MERRY MERLOT DELIGHTFULLY DETAILED PAIR!

Have you seen the gorgeous Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper?  Just beautiful!  I have been creating with this paper this week and thought I would show you.  I have made lots so watch out for the next few posts.

Firstly about this paper: this Designer Series Paper comes in 8 light-weight sheets and delicately cut.  There are 4 each of 2 designs.  One is the lovely floral patterns and the other design is frames and borders.  They are Vanilla on one side and White on the other side so you can choose depending on your project.

You can cut the patterns out to use them.  I used the floral design and cut various sections of the paper.  You can see it below.  It does take time to cut it but I think it is worth it.  JUST A TIP: I laid a base card near the section where I was cutting so I could see what size to cut it out to.  This was better than just randomly cutting and I can see how the sections fitted on the card as I went.

For these cards I went with one of the new colours – Merry Merlot.

I used the Vanilla side of the paper for these cards.  You don’t need to add much to the cards.  The sentiment is from Eastern Beauty set.  I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut the vanilla circle and a scallop one in Copper Foil.

This card below was inspired by a card I received this week from my upline – Vanessa.  I made mine to a standard size card adding one of the detailed flowers at the top of the Very Vanilla card base.  The sentiment from Southern Serenade is stamped on a square of Very Vanilla card and then layered on a square cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I added some loops of Copper Thread and also Adhesive Pearl around.

I have more cards to come with this paper so check back in very soon.

WEDNESDAY’S! WOW # 27 – THE POPULAR ROOTED IN NATURE BUNDLE!

With so many wonderful new products in this catalogue I thought I would focus today for Wednesday’s WOW! on a very popular bundle.  This is the Rooted In Nature bundle.  Have you seen it yet?  I think it is one that will rival the long lasting Lovely As A Tree stamp set.

The stamp set has a number of different trees and leaves and it also has some lovely sentiments.  You get 16 stamps all up.  The matching dies cut out most of the trees and leaves.  In addition there are a couple of leaf dies that will emboss the leaves.  Here is the bundle below.

Here are a couple of projects made by Stampin’ Up! artists using this bundle.   You can see the diversity of projects with it.  Not just for the masculine cards but suitable for anyone.  I think this will be great for Christmas cards too.  What do you reckon??

Do you want to see it in action?  Check the video below.  (If you receive these updates by email be sure to go directly to the blog post by clicking on the blog title above so that you will be sure to see it).

This bundle is available now in store -> HERE.  Please use the Host Code:  FRS6ZZ6G ($126.75 clear mount – you get a lot in this bundle).

OH SO ECLECTIC FRAMED WITH STITCHED LABELS!

I mentioned the Stitched Labels Framelits 2 posts back.  Ooh! I am in love with these.  I am sure you will love these.  I have used the Stitched Shapes Framelits so much and these will be a nice addition.  So I was playing with them again over the weekend.  With these cards I used the “old” set Oh So Eclectic.  And oh! another new love – Gorgeous Grape!!

Here are the cards.

I kept the layout the same on both.  This first one is in Lovely Lipstick – one of the new Incolors.

The “stitched” background was cut with one of the dies in the set on a smaller piece of card than the card base.  I did that twice. Once at the top and then at the bottom.  The white card was cut with one of the ornate frame dies and the flower and leaves stamped from the Oh So Eclectic set was raised up on this.  The sentiment is from the stamp set and stamped on Granny Apple Green card and cut with one of the label dies.  A little Silver Thread was wrapped around and adhered on the back of it.

The Gorgeous Grape card was created in a similar way.  Under the white diecut frame I added a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper that I had flagged the ends.  I stamped 2 flowers from the Oh So Eclectic set.  The outline was stamped in Gorgeous Grape and the inside was stamped in Highland Heather another new colour.

Here are the Stitched Labels Framelits.  How nice are they???

It has some great dies for the sentiments and a few little ornate ones.  The line ones I mentioned in the previous post.  I found it helpful to use the rubber mat for the top plate in the Big Shot to reduce the line from the edge of the die.  I will be using these dies a lot I think.  You need these dies. 🙂

These are available in my store -> HERE now.  $57 AUS  Please use the Host Code: FRS6ZZ6G

GET TO KNOW THE 2018 INCOLORS!

Well what an exciting day yesterday was with the start of the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.  I hope you have had time to look over it and maybe even made up your Wish List.  I hope you have a BIG piece of paper for that. Perhaps a notebook would be better. 😉

For today I thought we would chat about the new Incolors.  Let’s meet them.

I must say, they are quite bright Incolors this year.  I don’t often work with a lot of bright colours and I wasn’t too sure of them.  They are growing on me though and I think if you aren’t too sure then just use them in small doses on a card and maybe not try and use all of them together.  (That’s my solution anyway. 😉 )

I made up a set of cards using these colours.

It’s hard to see them all when there are so many. I have each one below. I used the Love What You Do stamp set and the new Stitched Labels Framelits.  Love! Love! Love! these.  If you love the Stitched Shapes Framelits you will love these.

It’s good to see a Colour Comparison to see how the Incolors compare to other colours.  Each year I do a Punch chart to show them and have it in my studio.  Every one who comes to classes likes to see the differences in the colours we use.  I know I could probably do a fancy, schmancy computer generated one but where is the fun in that – and I don’t have time!!  I know it’s not the most professional or quality presentation but we are about punching cardstock and sticking them on paper. 😉

Here are the comparisons.  What do you think of the colours? What is your favourite Incolor this year?

Let’s talk about each of the colours.

Grapefruit Grove

I have to say this is fast becoming a favourite colour.  I have used it quite a bit already.  It’s a nice soft peach colour, a little lighter than Calypso Coral which I have used a lot of. It does work well with a lot of current colours.

HOW TO ON THE CARDS:  Each card layout is the same so I will just give the details here. The “stitched” effect was cut on a piece of the coloured card and then cut with an Oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. You might notice along the bottom edge of the white on each of the cards is a different “stitched” effect either straight “stitches” or xxx “stitches”.  It is hard to see.  I had a couple of attempts to cut these and found that I would get an ‘edge line’ from the Framelit which annoyed me.  I ended up using the foam mat as the top plate on the Big Shot and found that reduced the line.  I was happy with that.

The flower was stamped in the ink colour and then lightly washed over with the Aquapainter. It was then hand cut with scissors.

Call Me Clover

A bright green colour which might work great at Christmas time.  It is much lighter than a few of the current greens.

Blueberry Bushel

I am liking this shade of blue.  It’s not such a dark shade like the Night of Navy but not so “bright” which is a good addition to the blues.  I think it will work well for Masculine cards.

Pineapple Punch

I have had a number of people say to me how they love this colour.  Actually it was chosen as one of their favourite colours of all the colours.  It wasn’t just one person either.  So obviously it is a great addition.  A bit more “truer” yellow perhaps.  Warning: wear your sunglasses while looking at it. 😉

Lovely Lipstick

A bit darker pink to Melon Mambo.  A number of people have said they really like this colour too.  I think this is a little lighter than Berry Burst if you are comparing them too.  It’s a nice pink.

So there are all your 2018-2020 Incolors.  I am sure you will see a lot of these colours over the next 2 years.  I hope you get to play with these colours too.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

GOOD-BYE BUNDLES!

During this month we focus so much on the retiring products and what is leaving the catalogue that we forget what products are staying but won’t be available as bundles.  Did you know that you can save 10% by buying them as a Bundle now rather than decide in the new catalogue that you want them.

Let’s look at a couple of them.

My favourite bundle has to be the Colorful Seasons Bundle.  I have used it a lot.

These Z-Fold cards are still a very popular post on my blog.  I had matching gift bags to go with them.

You can see that post -> HERE.

This card was inspired by Patty Bennett that we made at my Catalogue Launch last year.

See the post -> HERE.

This card below I made just last week for my class last weekend.  It was a very popular card in the lovely retiring Sweet Sugarplum colour.  It was CASED from Leanne on Pinterest.  You can see the original card -> HERE.

What about the fantastic bundle Daisy Delight.  With a matching punch to the stamp set you can create some very quick cards with this Bundle.

Make it a fun Flap Fold.  The original post is -> HERE.

Or a nice sunshine-y card like the one below. The original post is -> HERE.

There are a number of other retiring bundles you can see in the image right at the top of the post including the Coffee Cafe Bundle, Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle, Hold on to Hope Bundle and Label Me Pretty Bundle just to name a few.

Do you like these?  Are they on your Wish List?  Then maybe you should grab them now before June 1st to save 10%.

FRIDAY FAVOURITES – GOOD-BYE TO THE 2016-2018 INCOLORS!

Each year we say Good-Bye to the 5 Incolors that have been with us for the past 2 years.  Some of these colours become favourites.  It’s hard to let go of them.  This year we are saying Farewell to colours like Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim!!  So for our final Friday Favourites for this current catalogue let’s look at these colours.

These little mini cards I made back in June 2016 to show the colours but I don’t know if I shared them on my blog as I can’t find the post now.  Here you are though.  They were using my favourite set at the time Swirly Birds.  (Note to self: I really must use that set again soon).

While these colours are nice I have really loved the Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum colours.  I have used them a bit.

Dapper Denim is a great colour for “boys” cards.  I couldn’t find the original post for this z-fold card below but it worked well for a special 40th card.

Another “boys” card using the Happy Birthday Thinlits with the Color Theory paper stack.

I cut 2 of the Thinlits for this one in black and one in white and when adhering them together I offset them slightly.  The white makes the Black ‘POP’.

Dapper Denim even for a wedding card.  So elegant!  This one uses the Floral Themes set.

Sweet Sugarplum – what a lovely shade of colour.  Using a short lived bundle back a couple of years ago, Thoughtful Branches.

One with the Sale-A-Bration 2017 set Avant Garden.

Sweet Sugarplum worked well with Peekaboo Peach.

Another Swirly Bird card.  I heat embossed the swirls with White Embossing Powder before sponging over the colours.

We won’t miss Flirty Flamingo as that is now coming back as a core colour.  That’s pretty exciting!

Have you got these colours?  What is your favourite?  Now have you stocked up on your cardstock, ink refills, inks etc.  If you haven’t you better get on to it.  Some of these items have sold out already but you might be lucky.  Please don’t go looking for them after the 31st as you might not get them.

You can order them in my online store -> HERE.  Please use the Host Code: XQZEJREH  Thank you.  I do appreciate your order and be sure not to mark it anonymous or I can’t send you a little card and gift to say Thanks. 🙂

This is the last of Friday Favourites for this outgoing catalogue.  Don’t worry I think I will be back with Friday Favourites for the new 2018 Catalogue.  Not long now to wait!!!  I’m getting excited that you will be able to see it soon.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Jenny
