Wednesday’s WOW! #169.Some Fresh New Colours for creating Masculine Cards.
Do you find Masculine cards hard to make? I know I do. I resort to the blues, browns, yellows, reds.
Well, I have some fresh new colours to try.
What do you think? What colours will you try out next??
This is good timing with Father’s Day coming up soon here in Australia. But these are great for Birthdays and any other occasion for the boys. Big and Little Ones.
So maybe Pin this Image above or Save it so you can turn to it when you have some cards to make.
Happy Crafting,
Jenny

This time embossing on some patterned paper. You can try any but I have used the Nests of Winter Paper with a wood-grain look.
It gives a rustic look with this paper. I was wondering now if I should have distressed the edges of the paper to give it a more rustic look??
The Sunflowers were coloured with the Ink Pads and Daubers and the sentiment from the Bright Borders Stamp Set. Which I see is on the Last Chance lists … I diecut this with one of the Mixed Labels Dies. Another one on the list … Be quick if you want to grab these ones.
Have you got the Sunflowers Embossing Folder yet?? It is so versatile and I have to say really fun to work with.

The details in the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder is amazing! I have had a lot of fun with this folder lately. And I can’t wait to show you more with what I have created with it. But today I am sharing this one with you.
When you don’t feel like colouring the whole embossed piece you can diecut a circle or other shape and colour that small area. And don’t forget to colour with the blue around the flowers. It helps them POP more.
I embossed a piece of white card with the Sunflower Embossing Folder then I diecut a circle in another piece of white card. Then embossed the card. It is better to diecut the shape first. If you do that after you have embossed the card it can flatten the detail.
I used the Daubers and inks to colour this one. And used the Balmy Blue Light Stampin’ Blend for the surrounds.
I heat embossed the sentiment on black card. This helps it POP more too. The sentiment is from the Simply Said Stamp Set.
Have you tried the Sunflower Embossing Folder? It is a large one but there are lots of different Sunflower shapes over it and you can pick the area you like depending on your project.
The Embossing Folder measures 6″ x 8-1/2″ (15.2 x 21.6 cm). I said it was a large one!
Hope you get to create with it. I will bring you more with it soon.
We will be creating with this folder in class this week. If you are a Wollongong local I would love you to join in my classes. They are lots of fun and I can share lots of tips and and techniques that are sometimes a little tricky to share through a blog post.

Have you seen the Puzzle Slider Fun Fold Cards? I saw them recently and just had to create one myself. The one I saw was created by Sue Stampfield.
I couldn’t find one in Metric measurements so I worked in inches. I adjusted those measurements and then worked out the Metric for my lovely crafters who prefer centimetres.
I put together a video for you. I used the Florals in Blooms Paper but you can use whatever you have. It’s a cool card. Even if you don’t like to do puzzles I think you will like to create one of these.
Here is the Video for you. The card is shown further below.
This is the card I had created earlier.
Don’t forget the inside.
Follow along with the video.
The Written Tutorial will be sent out for my Newsletter Subscribers next week. Are you a subscriber? I send out a project Tutorial each week. You can head to the Side Bar on my blog and click on the tab.

It’s a Fold Flat Card for this week’s video. It’s an easy one to create. I have used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Butterflies but you can decorate it as you like.
This is the card.
It can fold flat to post out. It will be a little bulky so check your postage.
You could even add a little chocolate or simlar in to the box part at the front when you give it directly to someone.
Don’t forget the inside.
You can watch along with the video below. If this doesn’t show in the post head to my Youtube channel.
See how you can decorate it if you don’t have the Beautiful Butterflies.
If you do like the videos did you catch the video of the 5 Ways with the Beautiful Butterflies I shared. You can see that on my Youtube Channel -> HERE.

I made this card recently. It resulted from a Happy Accident. I thought I would show you for our Wednesday’s WOW #168.
This is one of the flowers from the Thankful Garden Stamp Set. You could use any image though.
I was using it with Stazon and after I had stamped I wiped over the stamp with Stazon Cleaner and stamped it on scrap paper. It made the lines bleed but it looked cool. So I tried it again and this time I stamped on White card resulting in this effect giving it a washed out look.
I have tried it a few times since to replicate it. The results are different all the time. Some tips – Wipe over the stamp with the Stazon Cleaner. Stamp it off on to scrap paper very lightly first. Press firmly on to your card. Let it dry completely before finishing the card.
Be sure to clean your stamp carefully after you have stamped it.
Give it a go and see what you come up with.
If you would like other helpful tips click on the tag – Wednesday’s WOW! and find them.
Happy Crafting,
Jenny

This was the first time I have played with the Stampin’ Up! Natural Botanicals Stamp Set. I received this set months ago. It was a bonus pick during the second month of Sale-A-Bration. So it was so good to get it for Free!
This is a reverse stamp set. Which means you can stamp with either side. There is the detailed image then flip the stamp over. Some of the solid images will “fill” in the detail. Keep in mind though that some stamps when reversed will stamp the opposite way. But you can use them on their own.
Here we have the card in Soft Sea Foam. I love this soft green colour.
The Soft Sea Foam card mat was embossed with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.
Having the heat embossed sentiment on black gives the card a POP. The words are from the Simply Said Stamp Set.
This is the Stamp Set.

I have been playing a lot with the Pretty Florals Bundle. I have shared some different ones already. These 2 cards are very similar. There are just some variations.
They have the same paper, the Florals in Bloom Paper, and I have created the black frames to really highlight the flowers. You might be able to tell the differences though.
The one with the Fresh Freesia flowers is using the larger diecut flower and the outline edge. I sponged over a little Fresh Freesia ink to add some extra definition. This one is on a Fresh Freesia Card Base. The sentiment is from the Simply Said Stamp Set and diecut with the Mixed Labels Dies. We made this one in our class last week using the Pretty Florals Bundle.
The other one is with the small pink flowers. The flowers are in Pretty In Pink and the little edges, (Not sure what you would call them) are in the Strawberry Slush. This one has a Pretty In Pink Card Base. The sentiment on this one is from the Stippled Roses Stamp Set I think.
So which one do you prefer?
This is a great bundle. I have had a lot of fun creating with it.

Back to more Butterfly cards. I have used the Beautiful Butterflies a lot!
This was one of the cards we made at class last week for my Card Buffet. It’s simple but with the diecut butterfly shape cut in paper it adds an extra element. The paper is from the Mixed Media Florals Paper. Then a little sparkle in Glimmer Paper was added. Got to love a sparkly, fluttery butterfly!
The wavy Embossed background gives a look of movement for the butterfly too. The Soft Waves Embossing Folder is a great versatile Folder. You don’t have to just use it for wavy seas.
The sentiment is from the Labeled With Love Stamp Set.

Jenny
