SOFTLY SOPHISTICATED MINI TAGS!

Last week I had my Summer Craftastic event. Lots of fun and crafting and chatting.

I will share the projects we made in another post but today I thought I would show you the cute Mini Tag I made for all the guests to go on their gifts they received for coming.

These were so quick and simple to make – especially when I was on a time crunch!

I used the Softly Sophisticated stamp set. I love how the flowers and leaves are separate so you can stamp the flowers in different colours without trying to colour the stamps.

The white tag was cut with one of the smaller sized Perennial Postage Dies. I punched a hole in the top of them and tied through some of the Natural Wavy Trim and tied off with Linen Thread.

Don’t miss the sweet little birds. They are from the Dragonflies and Birds Embellishments available only online. Often they get missed being an Online Exclusive. They add an elegant touch to your projects.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #159 – CREATE AN OMBRE BACKGROUND

Wednesday’s WOW! #159 – An Ombre Background.

Add an extra addition to your next project with an Ombre background – with texture. Try this out.

Emboss your card mat with an embossing folder.

Using a Blending Brush or Brayer sponge over some ink in the same colour as your card. Starting darker towards the bottom and lighten as you work up the card. This creates a subtle variation in colour and is such a great effect.

I like this Softly Sophisticated stamp set. 

I like that the stamps for the flowers and leaves are separate so you can create different colours without using markers to add to the stamps. Especially being a photopolymer stamp set. They don’t work so well on those stamps.

I stamped them on scrap paper to get a feel for them first. Then I created this card with it. 

The background is embossed with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder. The paper is the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper.

SWEET SUNDAY WITH WATERCOLOR MELON!

It’s been HOT here! But don’t you just love biting in to that Watermelon on a hot day. It’s so refreshing!

I couldn’t help but check out the Watercolor Melon set. And I have discovered a cool tip with it.

Different melon shapes BUT did you know you can punch out the half pieces of melon using the Modern Oval Punch. Then you can snip across the top. So much easier than getting that curve shape with scissors.

STAMPIN’ UP! JUNGLE PALS – SNUGGLE OF SLOTHS!

Did you know a group of slots is called a snuggle. Pretty cute name. I’m fascinated by sloths. When you see videos of them they are so cute but they do move SO, SO slow!

I had to make a snuggle of sloths with the Jungle Pals stamp set. I used the Jungle Pals Dies too.

The sloths were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. Then sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set and the paper from the Delightful Florals pack.

I hope these Snuggle of sloths give you a smile to send you on your day.

STAMPIN’ UP! ICE CREAM SWIRL SWAP!

Nothing like Ice Cream on a hot day. Or maybe ‘Just Because’… Anytime really.

Well this is a Low-Calorie version. This card using the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle I received as a Swap card from Vanessa Webb for a Team Swap we had recently.

Doesn’t the sponged colour on the Ice Cream look like sherbet sprinkled over it??

I love how the impressions on the diecut cone make it look realistic. So much fun.

STAMPIN’ UP! FLIGHT AND AIRY PAPER CARD!

Create a card – with your paper. After all it’s such pretty paper.

For this I have used the Flight and Airy Paper.

I fussy cut one of the birds from the paper pack to add to the front with a sentiment layered on vellum and some ribbon.

This is the inside.

Cut a strip of your lovely paper twice the size as you would cut a card mat for the card. So just slightly smaller than your card base. Score a line down the middle and adhere the back to the card mat.

I have added a card mat as a base to make it sturdier but you could use it just with the paper as a card. 

Don’t forget to decorate the inside too.

This is such pretty paper. Really it is a must have!

PERENNIAL LAVENDER PAPER CARD!

I shared a card with using the pretty papers last post. Just by adding a strip.

I have another for you this time using the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. It is SO pretty. Why hide it!

I share how to create one in the last post so jump back. But it is basically a strip of paper just slightly smaller that your card mat base but double the width. Then score down the middle. 

Don’t forget to decorate the inside too.
