WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #97 – NATURE’S THOUGHTS DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #97 – Today I thought we need to take a closer look at the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  These are a hidden gem and I have had so many comment lately about where the dies are from when I have used them.  Perhaps you have missed them yourself.

These dies co-ordinate with the Positive Thoughts stamp set in the Mini Catalogue.  They have recently been released as part of the Co-ordination products.

I have die-cut them out so you can see them closer.

What I love particularly is the “dotted” frame die and the little flourish strip.  All the dies are great though. What about the largest feather? It has embossed lines on it which is really cool.

This card below I shared recently uses both the frame and the flourish strip.

This is the Positive Thoughts stamp set that these dies co-ordinate with.   The words are lovely in this set too.  I think these are a “Must-have” in your collection.

You can find these dies in my store now -> HERE.  Don’t miss them. You need them for your collection.

If ordering online please use the Host Code: MJMPAFFR.  After your order I will email out to you your free Project Tutorial Bundle available for this month.  This includes 12 projects using different Stampin’ Up! products.

Be sure to check them out.

Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #95 – USING THE BIRTHDAY DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #95 – Today I am giving you some Tips using the Birthday Dies.

The Birthday Dies are now available as co-ordinating products with the Happy Birthday To You Stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.

When I went to use them for the first time it concerned me as the cake stand doesn’t line up with the cake stamp set.  It is a different shape.  That’s ok.  Just trim off under the base of the stand.  So you are cutting the leg of the stand off.

Then it’s easier to adhere the cake stand on to the cake.

I love these dies as they give a lot more layering to the set.  You have the 2 different leaf shape dies and there are 2 on each die making it quicker to cut.  They cut so easily too.

The other larger shape in the set is for the flowers.  To use this one, stamp your cake on your card then also stamp the cake on another piece of card.  After colouring the flowers on the additional piece you can diecut them and layer them on to your card.  You could have several layers of flowers by stamping and die-cutting them several times.

Below is part of a card I have made recently with the stamps and the dies.  I can’t show you the full card as this is my card for the Stamping Tutorials for this month.  It gives you a peak though. 🙂  I haven’t used the flower shape dies on this card but lots of leaves and I have cut the cake stand too.

I think this is a really great stamp set to begin with but having the dies now really adds to this set.  I love all the layering you can create.

The Happy Birthday To You set is a free Sale-A-Bration choice with orders over $90 AUD.

Another tip: Purchase the Birthday Dies ($50 AUD), add another stamp set or ink/card to make your total to $90 then choose the Happy Birthday To You set for FREE.  Winner! you can get both together. AND – ordering with me you will receive the Tutorial Bundle with the card above as one of the projects. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #93 – LAYERING THE POPPY MOMENTS DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #93.  Today we are looking at the Poppy Moments Dies.  These are lovely dies in the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue.  There are so many dies and what do you do with them??

Today’s Wednesday’s WOW! is Layering the Poppy Moments Dies.  See how these flower dies work together.

You will find in these dies a number of flower shapes and leaf shapes.  They can work on their own or layer them together.  You can see in the image above how I have layered them.

There are a number of small flower centres too.  The really small leaf shape that you can use for the small “bud”, I have also used as a small leaf.  I showed that in the little tags in the previous post.

Below is the dies to see what they actually look like.  One die I haven’t shown on the image above is that small shape in the top left.  This diecuts the pattern in your card.  It doesn’t completely cut the card.  I will share that in another post to show you how it works.

Hope this is helpful for you when you come to use the dies.  PIN the image so you have it as a reminder next time.

Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #92 – BEST DRESSED FOR DIFFERENT CRAFTERS!

Back with Wednesday’s WOW! For the year.  You might hear people talking about different types of crafters but what does all that mean – and what type of crafter are you?  Today’s Wednesday’s WOW! #92 – Looking at the different types of crafter, or you might here them being referred to as customer types.

As part of my presentation at Onstage in November I needed to talk about the different crafters and make samples to suit.  So this is a good time to share some of the cards I made using the Best Dressed Suite for these different crafters.

The different Crafter Types are Beginner, Casual and Avid. You can see the 3 cards below.

A BEGINNER CRAFTER:

– New to stamping

– Needs guidance with where to start

– Needs a good experience and sense of accomplishment

– Wants simple designs and easy to use products.

– Wants affordable products.

So the top card is suitable for a Beginner crafter.  The Note Cards and Envelopes are affordable and easy to use.  Just add some simple stamping on the card and the envelope is great to stamp on as well.

A CASUAL CRAFTER:

– Likes to be helped when crafting

– Crafts occasionally

– More likely to copy projects

– Likes simple designs

– Needs crafting to fit the time they have

– Has less funds available for supplies

– Likes multiple uses for products

The card above is still simple in design but uses a little more products.  The paper adds an extra touch to the card but is still affordable.  Limited tools are needed to make the card. By layering the lipstick this will add some dimension to the card.  The lipstick is easy to fussy cut if the crafter doesn’t have a die-cutting machine.

AN AVID CRAFTER:

– Crafts daily to weekly

– Frequently creates projects from scratch

– Does like a casual experience occasionally

– Makes crafting part of their lifestyle

– Frequently buys and uses the products

– Buys more frequently than beginner and casual crafters

– “collects” products

– Likes specialised products

The above card is suitable for an Avid crafter.  It has several layers adding dimension to the card. It uses a number of different products as in the dies and the papers and even a little Wink of Stella sparkle on the lipstick.  An Avid crafter loves it all and wants it all.  Do you know an avid crafter?? 😉

****

So what type of crafter are you??  Are you a “collector”of crafting products? do you stamp frequently??   I think I waver between a Casual and Avid stamper.  I like projects to be quick and I have a simple style but I do create often and like to have some “tools”.

Hope you found this helpful or slightly interesting at least.  Maybe it inspires you in some way. 🙂

How ever often you create or what style you create I hope you enjoy it and that you be sure you take time for you to create.  It’s important for the soul.

Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #91 – CUTE APRON GIFT BOX!

Today’s Wednesday’s WOW!#91 I have a special project for you.  It’s an apron gift box.

I shared this project at my Onstage presentation back in November.  I was honoured to present the Best Dressed Bundle in Sydney.  I will be sharing other projects with this bundle in the coming weeks but thought you might like to see this project.

It might be fun to make up a little gift box for someone.  If you are a Demonstrator it might be great as you start planning your Catalogue Launches in January.  I have made it in to a little Stampin’ Up! apron which is quite a novelty but you could use other card or paper and make a really pretty box.  I am sharing the template and the details below.

So many people loved this cute little bag at Onstage and also when I have shared it on some Facebook groups I am on.  Now here it is for you.

This is made with the All Dressed Up Dies.

Cut one bag front from black card.  Trim the side off the diecut bag and also the bottom tab so you are left with an apron shape.  Also cut 2 of the stitched strips from black card to use as the straps.

Here is the back of the bag.  I created a little box so you can fill it with small treats  It’s a very simple box.  I will share the template below.  The straps are attached at the top of the apron, crossed over and attached inside of the box at the back.

BOX TEMPLATE

Below is the template to create the box.  Cut your card 10.5cm x 12cm (4 1/8″x 4 3/4″).

Score on the short side at 4cm, 6.5cm (1 1/2″, 2 5/8″). Score on the long side at 2.5cm, 9.5cm (1″, 3 3/4″).

Cut up on the tabs on the short sides.  Fold on all the score lines.

Add adhesive to the outside of the small centre tabs on the short side.  Fold up to form a box.  Add more adhesive on the tabs as needed.  Adhere all together.

Place adhesive on the back of one side of the box.  Line up the bottom edge of the box with the bottom edge of the apron at the back to be sure it is straight. Adhere the straps on the apron and box.

I cut the small stitched sentiment shape to create the apron at the front and added a small logo from the Follow Your Art Washi Tape.

I hope you like the cute box/bag.  It’s a lot of fun to create.

This will be the last Wednesday’s WOW! for 2019.  We will have a couple of week’s break over Christmas and New Year and be back in 2020.  I look forward to sharing more with you in the new year.

If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see for future Wednesday’s WOW! then drop me a comment.

Happy creating,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #90 – SHINY DIECUTS!

Wednesday’s WOW! #90 – creating shiny diecuts.  This is something really cool I just realised. Maybe you already know.  This is how you can make your diecuts shiny – and not using the shiny Foil or sparkling Glimmer Paper.  It’s very easy.

Firstly, diecut your shape.  Here I used the leaf shape from the Christmas Layers Dies.  Rub over the diecut with Versamark, Sprinkle over the Clear Embossing Powder and heat the powder with your Heat Tool.  See the shine develop.  It’s always magical isn’t it when you see that powder melt away.  If you want to take it a step further you could add some glitter in with it to really make it sparkle.  How cool!

I have given you an image below that you can PIN to Pinterest so you can then come back to anytime to remember this fun little technique.

Below is the finished card.

I had a small piece of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Before I adhered this to the white card mat I stamped over some “spots” from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and then embossed the white card with the Subtles Embossing Powder.  It is a little hard to see.

Add a small strip of the Copper Foil behind your Brightly Gleaming paper strip too before adding it to the card. Adhere the leaf spray on to the white card and then add this to the Pretty Peacock card base.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set stamped on to white card and that was cut out.  All finished with a Copper Star Embellishment and some of the Classic Weave Ribbon added with a glue dot.

Here is a close-up of the shine on the leaf spray.  I have to say this card was so hard to take a photograph of with the shine from the Copper in the paper and the shine on the leaf spray.  I hope you get enough of an idea anyway.

Try this idea out for yourself.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #89 – TAGS, TAGS, TAGS!

Wednesday’s WOW! #89.  I have a cool new bundle to share with you today that I just discovered about.  It’s the Tags, Tags, Tags Bundle in the Holiday Catalogue.  Really I am a little slow sometimes.  Perhaps you haven’t noticed it yourself so I thought I would tell you about it.

The Tags, Tags, Tags Bundle is on p56.  There are 9 images in the stamp set on 3 stamps.  They are connected together. The 3 tags are cut at one time with the Trio die.  How cool is that! A bit of a time-saver.

Each tag die is a different shape.  And you could use these tags dies for any of your other sentiments that fit in the shape.  I love the shapes of them and one is stitched!

I really overlooked these dies. Did you?

Here is a closer look at how they cut.  These are using the Valentine’s stamps in the set but you get the idea.

While we don’t celebrate Halloween here or even Valentine’s Day all that much, the Christmas stamps are really sweet, but really those dies!!

What about some ideas from the catalogue of how to use these little tags.

Some more samples.  You could use these on cards not just tags.

If you want to check the Youtube video out to show these more clearly then head -> HERE.

If you want to see them in my store and/or order then head -> HERE.

If ordering please use the Host Code:3F2MRZYP

Also, Don’t forget there are only a few days left to go in the draw to win a new Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer.

Thanks for visiting me.  I love your visits,

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #88 – CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN PROJECT KIT!

It’s Wednesday.  Time for another Wednesday’s WOW!  Since Christmas it fast approaching I thought we would look at a fun Christmas project – the Christmas Countdown Project Kit. Although the elements in this kit are for Christmas it’s a great project that you can use for other countdowns or even storing some little items.  What about embellishments in your craft room?

The kit contains the box elements and all the supplies to create 25 boxes.

You can see this kit in action in this video.

So what could you use this for yourself other than Christmas?  Maybe a Birthday Countdown,  Countdown to a special holiday,  Perhaps a rewards box with treats in it for your young children in the family or at school for a teacher.  Or some people have used this in the craft room for storage of those small embellishments or punch-outs.  And you can dress it up any way you like.  Don’t be limited to the supplies in the kit.

If you would like to see some more creativity with this kit head to my Pinterest board -> HERE.

You can see it in my store now -> HERE.  You can order directly from there too. Please use the Host Code: 3F2MRZYP

or contact me directly.

Cost is $52 AUS.

Don’t forget go in the draw this month to win a new Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer when you place an order with me over $25.

Have fun with this kit.  Let me know if you have any other ideas to use it for.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #87 – EXTENDING YOUR DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #87.  I can’t believe I hadn’t shared this tip with you before.  I share it often in my classes.  I went searching back through my blog but can’t seem to find anything.

SO, today’s WOW!  How can you extend your Dies to fit behind a larger sentiment piece. It works with punch shapes too.

It’s very simple.  Die-cut (or punch), cut it and adhere it behind the stamped piece. It’s a great way to dress up your sentiments when you don’t have the right size.

I have done that with a different sentiment on this card here that I shared some posts back.

Hope you find this tip useful?

Happy Stamping,

Jenny
