WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #72 + BIRD BALLAD WEEK DAY 3 – COLOURING THE PRETTY BIRDS!

Today is a double Whammy for you.  We have Wednesday’s WOW!  and also we are up to Day 3 of my Bird Ballad Week.  Today I have a video for you. I have been colouring the little birds and the flowers from the Free As A Bird stamp set so thought I would actually share a video with you.

This is the card I will show you how to colour in the video.

See the video below.  Bare in mind that this is a new area for me so it’s a work in progress AND I have a bit of a cold so the volume might be a bit quiet.  Just turn up your volume and watch away.  And you can fast forward in parts of the colouring. 🙂  I will work on that too.  I do appreciate your feedback though.  Good or bad – I can handle it.   Thank You. 🙂

I really like the Stampin’ Blends for colouring.  They make it so easy to get the contrast in colours.  I love that a lot of the images with Stampin’ Up! have shading on different parts of the image so you can follow these to get the contrast as well with the Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you found this helpful?  Would you  like more videos like this?  Constructive criticisms welcome.

I still have more to show you with this bundle so be sure to stop by again tomorrow as we continue our Bird Ballad Week,

Jenny

BIRD BALLAD WEEK DAY ONE – PRETTY PAPER!

It’s Bird Ballad Week this week.

This is such a gorgeous group of products that have shown to be very popular if you have been looking around the internet. I know I have been having fun creating with them and I have lots to share with you.

Isn’t this just the prettiest paper?? You don’t need much more to it.  The sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set on a strip of Calypso Coral card. I just angled the end and then added some loops of Linen Thread behind. To do this I wrapped the Linen Thread around my fingers a few times and added that to the back of the card strip by adding Snail Adhesive to the back of the strip. It’s a quick and easy card.

The Bird Ballad Bundle includes the Free As A Bird stamp set and the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  You can also buy them individually and also the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. All  GORGEOUS!!

In Australia? You can buy them in my store now -> HERE. $89 AUS for the Stamps and Die Bundle. Please use the Host Code: H2BBRFTE

See you again tomorrow.

HELLO 2019 INCOLORS!

I shared a card last post with the new Incolors.  Today I wanted to look a little closer at them.

I put together a comparisons chart to show you how the 2019-2021 InColors compare with other current colours.  I like to do this each year and everyone who comes along to my studio like to look at it closely.  It gives you a good idea.

On the chart below the new Incolors are marked with an asterix (*).

Rococo Rose – It’s like a dusky pink. It’s very popular at the moment in fashion and even decor.  Have you seen this colour around? It’s not as bright as Flirty Flamingo but darker then Blushing Bride.

Purple Posy – I will be honest, sometimes I am not sure of this colour.  At times it can appear a bit washed out while other times it gives a subtle purple shade.  It is certainly much lighter than the popular Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.

Pretty Peacock – Another popular shade in fashion at the moment.  I was out shopping today and saw so many clothes in this colour.  I did tell my daughter it was Pretty Peacock.  She just rolled her eyes.  I don’t understand. 😉  I didn’t compare this to the Shaded Spruce or Garden Green here but when I looked at them earlier I find this is not as bright a green which is nice.

Terracotta Tile – When I pulled all the colours out I was amazed how close in colour it is to Calpso Coral.  I do use this colour a lot so maybe this will be a good alternative sometimes.  I will see about it.  It has a more pinkier tones perhaps?? And too it is another popular colour in the clothing range.

Seaside Spray – I quite like this shade of blue.  I have to say it was very popular at my Catalogue Kick off events over the weekend.  It is not as bright a blue as the Balmy Blue.  I think it is a nice blue for sea and sky stamping.

So I am not sure of what colour is my favourite as yet.  I am warming more to them each time I use them so stayed tuned for further projects and how I use them.

What is your favourite? Can you take the quick poll please.  It will be interesting to see what everyone thinks.

SUNSET WITH THE 2019 STAMPIN’ UP! INCOLORS!

Ok, maybe this is a bit of a loose title but hey sometimes it’s hard to be creative with blogging. 🙂

I have been playing with the new 2019 Incolors lately.  I will say when I first saw them I was a bit blah! BUT now I have been playing with them a bit I am really warming to them.  I will talk to you more about them in a later post but I thought we would start with this card today.  I wanted to use all the Incolors together.

I thought this reminded me of a sunset over the ocean.  That’s what it is like where I live anyway.  We have Pretty Peacock at the bottom for the grass under the lighthouse, Seaside Spray for the water, Purple Posy as the sky is changing, a little more pink with Rococo Rose and the orange with the Terracotta Tile.  Can you see it now??

Here is my inspiration.  This is our local lighthouse in Wollongong.  The sky wasn’t that orange this night unfortunately but it can get quite intense.  You just have to imagine it.

To create the card I cut equal strips of the Incolors then adhered them to a piece of Whisper White card.  This was a lot easier to line them up.  Also since I was embossing it with the Subtle Embossing Folder it made it easier to run through the machine.

I used the new Sail Away stamp set which is a really cool one. Watch out for more with this.

Stay tuned for more creating with the Incolors too.  Have a great day,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #69 – REATTACHING THE LOCK BUTTON ON YOUR STAMPIN’ UP! PUNCHES

Do you have this problem?  The lock mechanism on your punches pop out and you can’t get them back in.  I found this video on Youtube to help you get them back in and to stop it happening in the first place.

So for Wednesday’s WOW! #69 – how to reattach the lock on your punches. I tried it and it works.

Thanks Kat for this video.  It was very helpful.

Now you can go off and fix those little locks on your punches.

Have a great day,

Jenny

TIME TO CELEBRATE WITH EVERYTHING IS ROSY!

I have another card for you with the Everything is Rosy Medley.  I think this one might be one of my favourites.

I had a small piece of this pretty flowery pattern from the paper pack.  It’s a shame that you can’t see the shiny Rose Gold embossed flowers.  If you have this paper you will know what I mean.  Most of the pieces in the pack have some Rose Gold embossing on it.

I cut this flowery piece in half then added them on to a white card mat with a strip of Melon Mambo. This card strip is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder but it is hard to see in the photo.

Before you add the piece to your Night of Navy card base wrap some of the Night of Navy ribbon around. This ribbon is gorgeous.  I would love to have more of this ribbon.  It has the Rose Gold Metallic edge to it.  Just divine!

With the Rose Gold Diecuts in the pack simply stamp one of the sentiments on the piece and add that to your card front.  I diecut one of the leafy pieces in the dies set in Melon Mambo card just for an added touch.

Have you got this medley yet?  Have you enjoyed creating with it?  You don’t realise how gorgeous it is until you unpack it do you.

If you plan on getting the Everything Is Rosy product Medley you need to be quick.  There is only a few days left.  I know it is a larger expense ($139 AUS) but I will tell you it is so much value.  Someone calculated it to be over $180 in value.  You really won’t be disappointed.  Although I think you will be disappointed if you miss out.

Head to my store now -> HERE to pick one up. Please use the Host code: EUEAGC3N

After your order is placed I will send you out an email with the 12 Free Tutorial projects for this month (These are not including Everything is Rosy projects).

FAREWELL TO THE 2017-2019 INCOLORS!

I am sad that these colours are leaving us.  I have to say I have really liked working with most of these colours.  Especially Lemon Lime Twist.  I thought I would share a few photos of projects I have made over the last 2 years as we send off these colours.

At the beginning of the 2017 Catalogue when these colours launched I had to show them all together with a flower display using the Daisy Punch.

I like to create a group of cards using the Incolors.  These ones use the Detailed Floral Thinlits.

I think Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist has been a popular colour combination I have used over the last 2 years.

Lemon Lime Twist is just as nice on it’s own. It does seem a lot more intense though.

Tranquil Tide.  I used it a little bit.  It was a nice shade of green.  This one was using the Eastern Beauty stamp set.

Fresh Fig and Powder Pink I haven’t used all that much.  But here they are together with Berry Burst.

So we farewell the 2017-2019 Incolors.  What colour are you saddest to see going?

Inkpads and some of these colours of cardstock are still available to order.  Be sure to stock up if you like them.  The Reinkers have all sold out though so you are a little late with those.

See the retiring incolors and to order in my store head-> HERE

Please use the Host Code: EUEAGC3N when ordering.  Thank you kindly. And be sure to not mark your order anonymous or I won’t be able to send you out a little Thank You. 🙂

Next week we will be welcoming in the 2019-2021 Incolors.  I have been playing with these a lot over the weekend so I watch out for some projects soon.

Thanks for stopping by.  See you again.

Jenny
