SHELL CHRISTMAS TREE WITH BEACHY LITTLE CHRISTMAS!

Another different card for you today with the Beachy Little Christmas set.

The tree was coloured with the Watercolor Pencils.  I did add some Wink of Stella to the larger shells although it is hard to see here. I added a strip of Red Glimmer Paper under the left edge of the white mat.

The Desiger Series Paper added to the Old Olive card base is from the Merry Little Christmas pack.

A simple, summery Christmas card.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! COLOURING OVER EMBOSSING!

This project for today’s Wednesday’s WOW! is a card we made at class a couple of weeks ago using the Stampin’ Blends. I thought it might be a good technique to share with you.

I have used the Lift Me Up set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then coloured it with the Blends markers.

Do you want to see how to do this?

I haven’t done a video as yet but I have an earlier tutorial from some time ago using the Blendablilities.  They work the same way.  To find out head -> HERE to see the blog post.

Happy Colouring!

BEACHY LITTLE CHRISTMAS WEEK!

The weather is warming up here and it is Summer this week.  I thought it’s time to share some Beachy Little Christmas cards for you that I have been making over the last few weeks.

Here is the first one.  I think this is my favourite one.

I heat embossed the shells and the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder on to Thick Whisper White card base. The shell sentiment is from the Beachy Little Christmas set and the “Merry Christmas” is from Star of Light set.  The white squares are cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then I cut gold squares from the Layering Squares Framelits.

I wrapped around some Gold Thread before layering it on white card layered on a Gold Foil Sheet mat. I think the gold makes it classy.

A 50TH ECLIPSE CARD WITH BLOOMS AND WISHES!

A friend of mine turned 50 this week and we went to her birthday celebrations last night.  Of course I wanted to make a card but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming with what stamps to use or what colours.  In our team group this week we have had a challenge to use a stamp set we haven’t used before.  I could choose from a few different ones here.  I have a number still uninked!! I went with the Blooms and Wishes set and used the Eclipse technique.

The colours used are Sweet Sugarplum, Fresh Fig, Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and Lemon Lime Twist.  I picked those colours from a Colour combination off Pinterest.  I added a little bling with the Rhinestones.

Hope your weekend is going great.  Today I have been at a Christmas market all day so it was a busy one but always great talking to people about stamping right. 🙂

MINI THANK YOU CARDS!

I forgot to show you some Thank You cards I have made recently for customers and team members.  These are all little 10cmx10cm (4″x4″) cards.  I like making these size cards.

This first one uses the Vertical Greetings set.  I don’t use this set nearly as much as I should.  It is so cute.  I coloured the stamps with the markers to get the different colours.  One heart version was in Sweet Sugarplum and the other heart version was in Flirty Flamingo. A little Linen Thread bow finished them off. These cards where made for my customers a couple of months ago. Yes it has taken this long to show you.

This next little cutie card using the Baby Bear stamp set was for some of my team members for an online team event we had last month. I wanted to send out a “Thanks” for them sharing in the Facebook group event.

Side Note: Hey! Have you considered joining Stampin’ Up!??  Not just for the discount (although that’s great!) but for all the team fun and the sharing and the creating and the …. Really, so many reasons why!

Let me know if you would like more information or stop by my page on this blog for “join my team”.  See the link at the top of my blog.

This Thank You card was for a challenge on my Facebook page I held last month to share a card that my readers have made and I sent out a prize at random.  The card was made up with some “bits” I had on my desk from another project. They come in handy sometimes.  This one was using Happy Birthday Gorgeous set.

Mmm! I am noticing a pink theme here (sorry Lynda).  Unintentional I assure you. 🙂

Have a great day and for all my US blog readers wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy the special celebrations.  We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia but I think it’s great to take some time and be Thankful for all that we have.

WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #12 – USING THE 3D TEXTURED IMPRESSIONS EMBOSSING FOLDERS!

For this week’s WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #12 I came across this video from Stampin’ Up! using the 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.  There are a number of these in the catalogue along with the regular Embossing Folders.

There are a couple of tips to remember when using the 3D ones that I thought it might be good to share this with you to help you get a deeper, crisper impression on your card.  I hope you find this helpful.

I don’t know about you but I always forget to mist my card when I am using these folders.

Now this video used the lovely Layered Leaves but this week two of the 3D folders are on special for Extravaganza week.  These are the Cable Knit and the Hexagons 3D.

The Cable Knit folder is 30% off this week at $11.90.  See that in store->HERE.

The Hexagons Folder is 10% off at $14.40.  See that in store -> HERE.

Shop for these or any other of the products reduced during Extravaganza week from 20th – 27th November.  See all the details in the previous blog post.

DID YOU KNOW STAMPIN’ UP! HAD BERMUDA BAY GLIMMER PAPER??

Well, you can make any colour you like!

You might have seen you can colour any embellishment like the Rhinestones and Pearls or ribbon with the Blends BUT I had a play with something else the other day.  Did you know you can colour the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.  Now before you rush off and try it there are a couple of important notes.

** Use the Brush Tip end of your marker and only GENTLY brush over the Glimmer Paper.  Too hard a rub may damage the nibs of your marker.

** Only colour the area exposed so you don’t waste the ink.  You can see further below.

Here is the card I made with colouring the Glimmer Paper.

This is using the set Color Me Happy now available.  I have coloured the bird and the flower with the Stampin’ Blends.   Plus I coloured the Adhesive Pearl in too.  When I assembled the card I embossed the White card mat with the Softly Falling Embossing Flower and added a strip of white that was cut with the Flourish Thinlits under the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  (Don’t just keep this paper for Christmas!).

Getting back to the Scallop Circle.  I cut a scallop Circle using the Layering Circles Thinlits from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Then coloured just around the edge of it gently with the Dark Bermuda Bay Blends marker.   You don’t want to press hard with the marker.   Also, you only need to colour the outside edge that will be seen.

So what colour Glimmer Paper will you make??  Have fun with it.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

WATCH IT WEDNESDAY #11 – COLOURING BEAUTIFUL YOU WITH THE BLENDS!

I have been sharing a lot of projects using the Stampin’ Blends.  I am really enjoying them.  So easy to use and I am feeling like an artist!!!  Well, maybe I have a little way to go.  A few weeks ago I played with the Blends with the Beautiful You set.  So I thought I would show you these in Watch It Wednesday #11.

Here are the 3 cards but I will show you them individually further below.

I did colour these a few weeks ago and I have worked on my colouring a bit more but you might find it helpful.

Here is the video for your enjoyment.

Here are each of the cards so you can see them close-up.  I have kept the layout similar but created them in different colours and changed the Embossing Folders.

Night of Navy with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.

Rich Razzleberry with the Petal Burst Folder.

Cherry Cobbler with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

Did you notice the Rhinestones?? You can colour them with the Blends too.

So I hope you might have a play with them.  They are really not hard at all to use and I love the effect with them.

A WEDDING CARD IN A HURRY!

Last Friday I was in a rush.  Josh had yet another wedding to go to.  I thought I had a wedding card made as I made up quite a few at one time a couple of months ago.  But I didn’t keep up with how many weddings he has been to lately!!!  So this was a wedding card made in a hurry.

This card changed a lot over the time I made it but in the end I went with this.  It was hard to get a good photo of it so I do apologise for the lighting.

The base is Sweet Sugarplum and the white card is embossed with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. I only just received this folder.  I can’t believe I waited so long! The sentiment which is from Always and Forever is heat embossed by Copper Embossing Powder.  The white circle was layered on a piece of Copper Foil cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.  I played around with different things on it and wasn’t sure which way to go.  Like I had so much time to muck around with it…  In the end I cut a few of the flowers and leaves from the Flourish Thinlits.  A few loopy Copper Threads and an adhesive pearl finished it off.

I hope you like the finished result.  Maybe I should have done 2 as there is another wedding for him to go to in a couple of weeks … 🙂

Have a great weekend,

Jenny
